Speech & Language Pathologist
Arizona’s first and only autism-focused charter school is expanding and seeking an Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assess, diagnose, treat, and help students to communicate in the new state of the art autism center.
Under the supervision and direction of the Head of Schools and the Director of Special Education; the SLP will be responsible for:
Implement student engagement strategies
Move students toward progress on goals
Write and implement individualized communication goals
Engage in data-driven instruction
Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies
Starting salary $95,000 for SLP with CCCs
Supervise 2 SLPAs with the implementation speech and language service in the classroom.
Write and attend IEP meetings as the SLP service coordinator for a caseload of 75-90 students.
Evaluate students in the area of speech and language as determined by the MET team.
Implement communication goals identified on student IEPs
Follow school-wide systems, rules and positive behavior interventions
Deliver services in a classroom integration model
Coach classroom staff and SLPAs on implementation of speech/communication goals
Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families
Responsible for paperwork compliance with an assigned office day
Accountability for growth and proficiency on IEP goals
Participate in annual and ongoing staff training

Coaches, monitors, and mentors Speech-Language Pathology Assistants working with students with disabilities.
Have a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school of speech-language pathology.
Experience delivering services in a school setting in a classroom integration model preferred
Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
Minimum of two years SLP experience in a school setting preferred
Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) preferred
Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card
Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card
Valid Speech-Language Pathology License
ADE Speech-Language Pathology Certification
Master’s Degree or higher
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom environment.
